The beginning can be any where you want to start because there is plenty to do on your way to becoming a successful internet marketer. I still am not where I would like to be but I don't think i'll ever be as I am alway's looking to improve. I have had enough success to quit my day job in 2004 but I am still working away and trying to improve on everything everyday.

The way I got started in this is that I always thought I had a lot to say about business, because I had worked in a grocery store all my life and felt I had a lot of business experience because the grocery business is a good place to learn about business and dealing with people. I also felt I had some things to share on having a positive attitude as I was always known in the store for my positive attitude and for getting things done. I felt I could help people learn about business and dealing with people if given a chance, but I never knew where to start. Then my brother showed me AOL in the middle 90's. I had always thought that AOL was just people goofing around so it never interested me since I was always trying to think of business and ways to get ahead in life.

When he showed me email I said to myself almost immediately this is my window to the world. I have been working night and day ever since to learn what I needed to know to be on the internet. To say it wasn't easy is the understatment of the century. It's been awhile since my brother first showed me the internet, but the way I remember it I didn't even know what a website was at the time, and when I was shown a website I was positive I would never be able to have one since I had no idea where to even start to get one.

So I got an AOL accoutn and started trying to figure out how I would go about marketing on the internet. The more I studied internet marketing the more I could see that having a website was going to be a must. I found a place that gave me a website free and got to work. I found the place on the free website where I typed in the writing and when I clicked to see my webpage it came back all as one big block of text with no paragraphs as I had written it. I emailed the customer support and they said that I needed to learn HTML and that they didn't help with that. I thought to my self no problem and asked them what HTML was. So it was like that for year's having to learn one thing after another and when I found out what to learn I usually didn't even know what it was I was about to dive into and learn.

So I started to learn HTML, still not knowing anything about websites, and really not even knowing what HTML was. See what I mean about you just have to take action? I just kept taking action on this and that and eventually I got far enough to where I did have a very basic website and was making a little progress with marketing on the internet. So that is my story on taking action on the big picture of internet marketing and I am still taking action today as I am learning new things everyday.

I also started taking action on a lot of little things as I was doing because I knew if I didn't I would never get it done. Sometimes I was just forced into starting things before I was really ready to start for one reason or another.

I would be promising people an ebook or something that I hadn't even started, with the idea of working on it night and day until I got it done. I was doing so much of this that I started to wonder if I was doing the right thing or going to far with this idea of always pushing things to the limit. I was also wondering if I was being honest with people. As you will find in other places on this site I am a big believer in honesty and even though I wasn't being dishonest because I always came through with what I said I was going to come through with, it just didn't feel quite right, that I was always woking on things before I really knew what I was working on.

So whether you are starting a big or little project, I feel one of the keys is that you just absolutely have to take action !!
