Website Design
Website design is the art of learning how to make your website look good.
A good looking site is a must when internet marketing. Having a good looking web design includes learning all the little things like colors, where to break content, where to place images, etc. Your website must be user friendly, by letting people navigate through your site in an easy manner. If your visitors don't understand your site they will simple leave. There are a lot of little things that most people never think of when designing there sites like the importance of white space and color in derecting your website visitor to take the desired action like signing up for you free email newsletter or buying an advertised product.

COLORS AND WEBSITE DESIGN
One of the most important things to consider when designing a website is the colors to be used on the site. Business site owners may choose blue for their site look, while a site about golf may have a green theme.
Black type on a white background is easy to read as you have always seen while reading a newspaper. Again it is obvious, but really think about it, they spend big money in the paper industry and have used black on white for ever for a reason, so who am I to decide that is not the best way to go.
Of course you can decide you just have to go with something different like black on bright yellow. But when building sites, if we want to be successful it is not about us but about our visitors and if black print on a bright yellow background is going to make them leave your site immediately if not sooner, whats the point of trying something new, when we know something is already proven to work?
SIMPLE
In one person's humble opionion (mine) the simpler the website the better. First of all I am still learning and studying to be a good website designer so as you will see on this site I don't have all the answers.
I do believe that the simpler the site the more user friendly it will be if it is done right. I have been to so many sites that have so many links, banners, and other choises, that I just feel the site is over whelming and that is why I try my best not to let that happen to my site.Another thing I see constantly on certain pages of the site, is the page will be a mile long with written content and when I've read it all, I'll think that the article could have been boiled down to one paragraph and I would have gotten just as much out of it.
I think what is going on when that happens on web pages is that we have been told so many times that we need to have a lot of content that people will take something that should have been a paragraph long and turn it into a book just so they have more words on the page.
It is great to write long articles if you have a lot to say, but again when you are just writing to fill the page, I believe that also fits in with the idea of not keeping it simple, when they should have been keeping it simple.
The person that spoke before Lincoln at Gettysburg talked for 2 hours and nobody remembers who he was or a word he said. Lincoln Delievered the Gettysburg address in just over 2 minutes (I think I am correct on that) and it is known as one of the greatest speeches in history.
